Hi Ultimately Community! 👋
As you saw in this month’s newsletter, this month’s theme is resilience💪! A quick recap: ultimately, resilience is the ‘bounce back factor’ - how quickly we recover from challenges. I discussed my journey with job applications and my aims to refocus after difficult experiences. In this blog, as we leave February behind, I will share with you some of my key resilience tips for you to focus on as we head into March.
Key Tips for Building Resilience
💡 1. Shift Your Perspective
Challenges are temporary and without adversity there is no room to learn. Instead of asking “Why me?”, ask “What can I learn from this?”. Perspective is everything, take a step back to see the bigger picture and reflect.
Action: Write down a recent challenge you've faced, then write down what lesson you learned, how it made you stronger and what you would do if faced with this challenge again.
💡 2. Build a supportive network
Being resilient isn't just going through difficulty alone- it’s about leaning on your support system and knowing when to ask for help. Surround yourself with people who uplift you and inspire you.
Action: write your name in the middle of a blank piece of paper, then write people who could help you around your name then make links to who these people are to you and before you know it you’ve identified your support bubble!
💡 3. Set small, achievable goals
Progress is individual to everyone and isn’t about massive leaps but small, consistent steps. Breaking down big goals into smaller, manageable tasks makes you one step closer to achieving them.
Action: Identify one goal for March and outline 3 small steps to start. You may have heard of SMART goal setting which is another effective method.
💡 4. Prioritize Self-Care
Resilience thrives when you take care of your mind and body. Rest, movement, and mindfulness are key.
Action: Try a new self-care routine this week—whether it’s meditation, a walk, or a creative hobby
With these tasks as your foundation of your newfound resilience with your support network and goals you can now head into March. Our next month's theme is growth!
